The 8-Step Rigorous Inspection Process That Defines Ruby Copper Tube Quality

Over 20 years of development, Ruby Copper copper tubes have been highly valued in both domestic and export markets for their superior quality, production consistency, and ability to meet international standards. To achieve this, Ruby Copper applies a strict quality control process consisting of eight rigorous inspection steps conducted directly at the factory. Each step is carried out using specialized machinery to ensure purity, durability, and safety for refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.

1. Chemical Composition Testing

The production process begins with raw material inspection. Pure copper is analyzed using modern spectrometry equipment to accurately determine the content of chemical elements and detect any impurities. This step ensures that the copper purity meets the technical standards required by different markets.

Controlling chemical composition is especially critical, as even minor deviations in impurity levels can affect thermal conductivity, mechanical strength, and workability. By applying high-precision analytical technology, Ruby Copper proactively eliminates risks at the raw material stage, laying a solid foundation for the entire production process.

2. Defect Detection Testing

After rolling and drawing processes, the tubes undergo an automated defect detection system. This technology identifies micro-defects such as surface cracks, porosity, deformation, or internal structural inconsistencies. These flaws are often invisible to the naked eye but can significantly impact durability and operational safety.

Continuous inspection along the production line allows defective products to be detected and removed immediately before moving to the next stage. This not only ensures output quality but also optimizes production costs and minimizes installation risks.

3. Hardness Testing

The hardness of copper tubes directly affects bending capability, flaring, expanding, and load-bearing performance during installation. Depending on application requirements, copper tubes may be classified as hard, half-hard, or soft. Each condition suits different installation needs, from residential air conditioners to large-scale MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) projects.

At the Ruby Copper factory, hardness is measured using specialized equipment to ensure compliance with declared technical specifications. Strict control of this parameter gives engineers and contractors confidence during installation, reducing the risk of cracks or unintended deformation.

4. Mechanical Property Testing

Alongside hardness testing, mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation are verified using automated tensile testing machines. This step determines the load-bearing capacity and structural stability of copper tubes under real operating conditions.

Copper tubes used in refrigeration systems must withstand high pressure and continuous temperature fluctuations. Without meeting required mechanical standards, products may deform or lose strength over time. Through high-precision automated testing systems, Ruby Copper ensures each production batch meets safety and performance requirements.

5. Grain Structure Testing

One of the most critical stages in the quality inspection process is evaluating the metal’s crystalline structure. Grain size testing involves electrolytic sample preparation, measurement of average grain size, and microscopic examination.

A uniform grain structure enhances ductility, reduces the risk of cracking, and improves workability. If grain size does not meet standards, the product may become brittle or experience reduced mechanical performance over time. Microscopic-level quality control demonstrates Ruby Copper’s long-term commitment to sustainable quality.

6. Flaring and Expansion Testing

In refrigeration system installation, flaring and expanding tube ends are common procedures to create leak-tight connections between components. Therefore, flaring capability is an essential indicator of copper tube quality.

After forming, tube samples are tested for flaring and expansion performance in accordance with international standards. This ensures adequate bending strength, compression resistance, and connection reliability—particularly for central air-conditioning and industrial MEP systems.

7. Internal Cleanliness Testing

Internal tube cleanliness directly impacts refrigerant flow efficiency and system lifespan. The presence of oil, metallic dust, or contaminants can obstruct gas flow, reduce efficiency, and increase the risk of equipment failure.

Ruby Copper applies analytical distillation methods to assess internal impurity levels, ensuring the tubes meet strict cleanliness standards. This guarantees smooth refrigerant circulation and prevents harmful residue buildup over long-term operation.

The eight-step rigorous inspection process is not merely a quality control system—it is the foundation that has built Ruby Copper’s reputation over nearly two decades. By maintaining consistent quality across every batch, Ruby Copper copper tubes meet export market requirements and earn the trust of engineers and MEP contractors. This commitment to excellence forms a sustainable competitive advantage in an industrial materials sector that increasingly demands higher standards and transparency in quality.
